In some small-sized audio complexes and radio tape recorders produced in the countries of South-East Asia, the level of detonation of the LPM significantly exceeds the norm and is noticeable even to an inexperienced listener. It is connected with that. that the flywheel drive shaft LPM. made of plastic, has a low mass and, accordingly, a small moment of inertia, so vibrations from the electric motor and fluctuations in the speed of the belt are not weakened enough.
In such cases, I suggest a simple and effective way to reduce detonation - to increase the mass of the tone-shaft flywheel. To do this, a suitable disk or ring is glued inside the recess in the flywheel. If there is no recess in it. then a metal disk with a diameter equal to the diameter of the flywheel can simply be glued. In extreme cases, you can use rings of solder wire, glued one into the other. It is important that the modified flywheel does not touch the details of the LPM, and the violation of its balance is minimal.
Thus, I lowered detonation in several models of mini-systems (Technics EH50, EH60, etc.) to an imperceptible level.
The long service life of the modified tape recorders showed that the measures taken did not affect the service life of the LPM.
