This miniature radio receiver is assembled according to a reflex circuit and is used to receive radio stations in the long or medium wave range.

Fishing Pocket Receiver

The radio signal, to the frequency of which the oscillatory circuit of the magnetic antenna WA1, consisting of the coil L1 and the capacitor C1, is tuned, is fed from the coupling coil L2 to the base of the transistor VT1 relative to its emitter.

Due to the presence of capacitor C2, the high-frequency transistor is connected according to a common emitter circuit, and resistor R1 is connected to the collector through capacitor C3. From the collector load R1, for additional amplification, the signal is directly fed to the base of the transistor VT2, also connected according to the common emitter circuit. The radio signal, amplified in two stages, from the resistor R2 is fed for detection to the diode VD1, from which the low-frequency component through the coil L2 again enters the base VT1 for low-frequency amplification. Now the capacitor C2 serves to filter the high-frequency component of the detected voltage, and the low-frequency transistor VT1 is connected according to the common collector circuit.

After amplification by the transistor VT2, the signal is fed to the output amplifier, assembled on the transistor VT3, which is loaded with the headphone BF1. Capacitor C3 blocks the power supply and the phone from flowing the high-frequency component of the current of the first stages.

A printed circuit board made of single-sided foil fiberglass and the arrangement of circuit elements on it are shown in the figure.

The L1 loop coil for the medium wave range is wound turn to turn on a paper sleeve, put on a 600NN brand ferrite rod with a diameter of 8 and a length of 77 mm, and contains 90 turns of PEL wire with a diameter of 0,2 mm.

The communication coil L2 is wound over the loop coil and contains 10 turns of the same wire. For the long wave range, the L1 coil contains 300 turns of PEL wire with a diameter of 0,1 mm, and the coupling coil contains 30 turns. Tuning capacitor C1 is variable with an air dielectric of the KP-180 type, but a semi-variable ceramic capacitor with a capacity of 150 pF can also be used. The sound emitter BF1 is a small-sized headphone of the TM-1 or TM-4 type, which has a DC resistance of about 100 ohms.

The advantage of this receiver is that it is especially economical: when powered by a single element 316, the current consumed by the receiver does not exceed 1,5 mA.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The blackest color for a BMW car 29.08.2019

The unique project was born thanks to the collaboration between BMW and Surrey NanoSystem, which developed Vantablack. The BMW X6 Vantablack VBx2 will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
BMW painted the car in the blackest known substance.

In 2014, British experts introduced the substance vantablack (vertically aligned nanotube arrays (vertically oriented arrays of nanotubes) + black (black)), which is the blackest known substance in the world.

Vantablack consists of carbon nanotubes growing on aluminum foil, 14 to 50 micrometers long and 20 nanometers in diameter. Such a substance absorbs 99,965% of the radiation incident on it, which distorts the shape of the surface covered with vantablack and visually turns three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional blackness.

The company has previously rejected all requests to paint vehicles with vantablack. The first car to receive an innovative coating was the new BMW X6 coupe-crossover, whose design was suitable, according to the creators of vantablack, to showcase the blackest substance in the world.

Prior to applying vantablack to a car, the substance was used in the aerospace industry, including in optical elements. Vantablack analog, developed by the American company NanoLab, is available on the open market.
