This device is designed to test the performance of computer power supplies and is a set of load resistors for all outputs of the unit with LED indicators of voltage presence, contacts for connecting measuring instruments. A pulsed load simulator and a control unit for switching on the unit are provided.

The tester loads each output of the tested unit with a current equal to approximately 10% of the maximum allowable for the most common power supplies in consumer computers. In addition, it is possible to additionally load the +12 V output with current pulses that follow at a frequency of about 90 Hz. This simulates the operation of a hard disk drive and other components of a computer with variable power consumption.

The tester circuit is shown in fig. 1. If an ATX block is being tested, its main output connector is connected to the XP1 connector of the tester. The XP2 connector is designed for today's outdated AT form factor power supplies. One or more voltmeters or an oscilloscope input can be connected to contacts ХТ1 (common) and ХТ2-ХТ8.

In order for the AT power supply to work, it is enough to plug it into the network. But the ATX unit will only have a "standby" voltage of +5 V, as indicated by the HL1 LED. Such a block should turn on completely when you press the SB3 button. The voltage that appeared after that in the "Power Good" circuit will open the transistor VT1, so the unit will continue to work even after the button is released. To turn it off, you need to press the SB1 button. Its contacts will shunt the emitter junction of the transistor VT1, and it will close, opening the circuit for turning on the block.

It should be noted that the usual voltage in the "Power Good" circuit is only enough for a faint glow of the HL2 LED. Its increased brightness will indicate a malfunction of the unit or that it is built according to a non-standard scheme.

On the DD1 chip and the VT2 transistor, a +12 V circuit impulse load simulator is built. Usually, this node is turned on for a short time by pressing the SB2 button. However, if necessary, you can enable it permanently by setting jumper S1, or completely disable it by removing jumper S2.

The ХРЗ connector is designed to power the fan, which may be required to blow through the load resistors during prolonged work with the tester.

The printed circuit board of the device is shown in fig. 2. Transistor VT2 is mounted on a heat sink with dimensions of 30x30 mm. It should be borne in mind that the board is designed to install buttons with two pins from each contact, and one of the pairs (right according to Fig. 2) of the connected pins of the SB3 button serves as a jumper between the printed conductors. When using buttons of a different design, this jumper must be installed specifically.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Lipstick Headphones 01.11.2021

Huawei introduced FreeBuds Lipstick headphones for women in the form of lipstick.

Headphones are sold with a magnetic case. The manufacturer of equipment focuses on premium design and details. The case itself has an interesting feature - when opened, it gives out the sound of premium lipstick cases.

Headphones are made in red, they are stored in a black case with gold stripes. Designers from Paris worked on the design. According to the manufacturer, the magnetic case is reliably protected from wear and mechanical damage, as it is made of stainless steel.

Headphones received the sound recording function. In Surroundings Mode from the Huawei AI Life app, users will be able to record not only the sound they transmit, but also the sound around them. The lipstick-shaped headphones also received an AEM EQ equalizer, which can adapt to the user, determining the shape of the ear and the operating conditions of the gadget. Also, the novelty supports a frequency range of up to 40 kHz, can enhance a different type of frequency and bass. The Huawei AI Life app provides several equalizer modes, each suitable for different types of music.

FreeBuds Lipstick support not only Bluetooth, they can also be connected to tablets and PCs. In addition, the headphones can be connected to two devices at the same time.
