The converter is designed to power a powerful load, such as a powerful ULF. The mains voltage rectifier circuit is shown in Fig. 1, and Fig. 2 shows a diagram of the converter and output voltage rectifiers. The power supply is unstable.

The main parameters of the converter:

  • Rated power in the load, not less than ....... 200 W.
  • The output voltage of each of the rectifiers at rated power ....... 30 V.
  • The output voltage of each of the rectifiers at idle, not more than ....... 40 V.
  • K.P.D. (at pH=200 W.), not less than.......80%
  • Conversion frequency ....... 25...35 kHz.

To limit the inrush current, the power supply provides a step-by-step power increase mode to the nominal one. For this purpose, a limiting resistor R2 and a trinistor VD6 are introduced into it.

At the initial time, the trinistor VD6 is closed, the charging current of the capacitor C6 is limited by the resistor R2 and the converter starts at a reduced voltage. After that, from the winding IV of the transformer T3 (see Fig. 2) the diode VD7 (see Fig. 1) receives a control voltage, which opens the trinistor. It shunts the resistor R2, and the converter enters the nominal operating mode. Diode VD5 protects the trinistor VD6. The circuit R1, C2, which limits the rate of voltage rise at the anode of the trinistor VD6, eliminates its spontaneous switching on. Elements L1, L2, C3, C4 form a filter that suppresses impulse noise generated by the power supply generator.

The winding data of transformers T1 - T3 are given in the table. The recommended winding order of the T3 transformer is as follows: winding I, shielding, windings V-XII, shielding, windings II, III, IV. The secondary windings V-XII are wound simultaneously in four wires.

The T4 transformer is made on a Sh6x6 magnetic circuit made of 2000NMS ferrite, each of its windings contains 40 turns of PEV-2 0,41 wire. All chokes type DM.

number Magnetic circuit Wire brand and diameter Number of turns, winding numbers
V-I II III IV XII
T1 K10X6X3
Ferrite 3000NMS
PEV-2 0,56 4 4 9 2 --
T2 K10X6X3

PEV-2 0,56 4 2 -- -- --
T3 PK30X16
Ferrite 3000NMS
PEV-2 0,9 48 48 6 6 19*

The converter board is placed in a perforated casing. Outside of it, at the output of each channel of the 30 volt power supply, electrolytic capacitors of the K50-16 type with a capacity of 1000 microfarads are installed.

The windings V-XII of the T3 transformer are wound with PEV-2 0,56 wire.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

200MP ISOCELL HP1 image sensor 09.09.2021

The South Korean company Samsung announced the ISOCELL HP1 sensor. It became the world's first smartphone image sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels (16 x 384 dots).

Samsung ISOCELL HP1 has not the largest pixels. Their size is 0,64 microns. According to the manufacturer, the compact dimensions of the matrix allow solving the problem of integration into thin smartphones, where every millimeter of free space is worth its weight in gold.

The sensor supports ChameleonCell technology, which is responsible for improving the quality of materials in the absence of light. When combining 16 pixels, the size increases to 2,56 microns, and the smartphone can take pictures in twilight and darkness with a resolution of 12,5 megapixels.

Samsung ISOCELL HP1 supports 8K ULTRA HD video recording at 30 FPS. Recording is carried out in 50 megapixel mode by combining four neighboring pixels.
