Like radar metal detectors, pulse metal detectors are classified as TD (Time Domain) devices that use a pulsed signal (Fig. 1.6). In this case, the repetition rate of pulses generated in these devices ranges from several tens to several hundreds of hertz.

In pulse metal detectors of the PI (Pulse Induction) type, to assess the presence of metal objects in the search area, the phenomenon of the occurrence of eddy surface currents in a metal object under the influence of an external electromagnetic field is used. However, in contrast to the TR-IB type devices considered earlier, pulsed metal detectors analyze the signal formed in the metal after exposure to a pulsed rather than a continuous signal.

The pulse signal generated by the pulse generator is amplified and fed to the transmitting coil, in which an alternating electromagnetic field is initiated accordingly. When a metal object appears in the zone of action of this field, eddy currents periodically arise on its surface under the influence of a pulsed signal. These currents are the source of the secondary signal, which is received by the receiving coil, amplified and fed to the analyzer. It should be noted that due to the phenomenon of self-induction, the duration of the secondary signal will be greater than the duration of the pulse emitted by the transmitting coil. In this case, the parameters of the trailing edge of the secondary pulse signal and are used for analysis with subsequent generation of data for the display unit.

It is easy to assume that if there is a special decoupling device or a commutator in pulsed metal detectors, instead of the transmitting and receiving coils, only one coil could be used, which would be alternately used to transmit and receive signals (Fig. 1.7).

The main advantages of pulse metal detectors are relatively high sensitivity, as well as the simplicity of the design of the coils. However, circuit solutions for individual blocks (for example, a pulse generator, switch, analyzer) are still quite complex. Among other things, such devices use microprocessors with appropriate software. Microprocessor programming also requires appropriate equipment and skills. Therefore, only trained radio amateurs will be able to assemble such a design.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Smartphone LeTV Le 1s 1080р 30.10.2015

LeTV has announced the Le 1s smartphone, which combines an attractive design, fairly powerful electronics and affordability.

The device is made in a metal case: its dimensions are 151,1 x 74,2 x 7,5 mm, weight - 169 grams. The 5,5-inch touchscreen is characterized by a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p format), a brightness of up to 500 cd / m2 and narrow side frames.

The "heart" of the novelty is the MediaTek Helio x10 processor: it contains eight cores with a maximum clock speed of 2,2 GHz and the ability to work simultaneously. The video subsystem relies on the IMG PowerVR G6200 graphics controller. The chip functions in tandem with 3 GB of RAM.

The smartphone carries a 32 GB flash module, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless adapters, a GPS navigation system receiver, a 13-megapixel main camera with an ISOCELL sensor and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera with wide-angle optics. . Instead of a traditional Micro-USB port, a symmetrical USB Type-C connector is used. On the back of the case is a fingerprint sensor for user identification by fingerprints.

Power is provided by a 3000 mAh rechargeable battery. With MediaTek SpeedVolt technology, a five-minute charge will provide up to 3,5 hours of phone calls.

The novelty supports operation in LTE networks; two SIM cards are allowed. The operating system is Android 5.1 Lollipop with a proprietary EUI 5.5 interface. You can buy a smartphone for 170-175 USD.
