The proposed stimulator (EAS) generates short pulses with an amplitude of up to 70V. For the calming mode, continuous pulses are applied (switch position 4), and for the excitation mode, 3 more types of pulses are used. In position 1, there are pulses with a period of 2 s. and a duty cycle of 4. In position 2,3, the output pulses with a period of 2 s., 3s. respectively (meander). The circuit in Fig. 1 consists of two generators assembled on a D1 chip, a driver on D2, D3 chips. Mixer on transistor assembly 166NT1. The voltage converter is assembled on transistors T1, T2, a transformer on a ferrite ring and a rectifier on diodes VD6-VD9, filter C7, R7. The output uses a diode bridge VD1-VD4 and smoothing capacitors C4, C5 for the normal operation of the measuring device.

The fill generator frequency is controlled by resistor R2 from 8 to 100 Hz. The frequency of the second generator is changed discretely by connecting the resistor R5. Resistor R9 is selected so that at the maximum amplitude the top of the output pulses is sharp. R12 is selected according to the minimum current consumption from the power source. The resistor R8 regulates the amplitude of the output voltage, and, consequently, the current, controlling the current with a measuring device. It is desirable to maintain the current within 10 - 20 A.

For a portable (camping) version, the output bridge, filter capacitors and measuring device can be removed by taking the output directly from capacitor C6. Metal photographic tweezers are attached to the ground terminal for attaching to the toes or fingers. For a camping option, you can make a clothespin with one metallized sponge, or just a suitable piece of metal is clamped in a fist.

The device showed amazing viability for almost 20 years of operation.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Live longer in clean air 11.12.2012

Scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) have found a direct link between clean air and increased life expectancy.

The study was conducted in 545 US counties and is the largest study to date that has assessed the reduction in fine particulate matter and its association with life expectancy. Scientists have focused on the health effects of fine particulate matter less than 2,5 microns in diameter. Numerous studies have already shown a link between chronic exposure to particulate matter and an increase in heart disease and increased mortality. However, for the first time, it was possible to find out how air purification affects life expectancy.

It turned out that in the United States, a reduction in the concentration of microparticles by 10 micrograms per cubic meter (10 μg / m3) between 2000 and 2007 increased the average life expectancy of people by 0,35 years. These few months are a serious statistically significant increase, although it was not easy to achieve this increase: the tightening of environmental regulations, the fight against smoking, the optimization of the transport sector, etc.

The study revealed some interesting details. Thus, the decrease in air pollution has led to a greater increase in life in cities than in villages. Apparently, in rural areas, the composition of microparticles is different. Also, a greater positive effect was observed in women than in men. Thus, for the first time, scientists have provided direct evidence that an environmental policy to clean the air from microparticles has a positive effect on life expectancy. Modern medicine, a healthy lifestyle, along with clean air and food can significantly extend the period of active people. This has a positive effect on the economy and the psychological climate in society.
