A simple circuit for an electronic combination lock of a combination of four buttons can be assembled on two microcircuits according to the RS flip-flop circuit.

Four-digit electronic combination lock

Due to the use of CMOS chips, this circuit draws a few microamps of standby current and operates in the voltage range from 3 to 18 volts. The circuit is assembled on two K561TL1 microcircuits or an analogue CD4093 AB. The four RS flip-flops work in series.

The combination of the lock corresponds to pressing the buttons S1, S2, S3, S4 in sequence and on the pin. 9-11 DD2 log "0" appears. If the sequence of dialing the code is incorrect, or if the S5-S12 buttons are pressed, all triggers switch to their original state. The circuit also eliminates the possibility of triggering if all buttons are pressed, because. triggers will go into disable mode.

Resistors are connected to the R and S inputs in the circuit for the stable operation of triggers, as well as the exclusion of tripping to static voltage. They are necessary, their resistance should be approximately the same.

For stable operation of the circuit, the power supply must be constant. On the output 9-11 DD2 can be connected through a resistor to a pnp transistor and an actuator, or a pulse shaper to drive a car central lock.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Cosmic ray clock synchronization 04.06.2022

Geophysicist Hiroyuki Tanaka of the University of Tokyo put forward the idea of simultaneously synchronizing clocks around the globe using cosmic rays. The principle is simple, he says, and the technology to do it already exists.

Atomic clocks can keep accurate for decades, but they are expensive and difficult to synchronize in remote areas. Synchronization by satellite signals also has problems in the regions of the poles, under water and in the mountains.

Hiroyuki Tanaka proposed a new method - space time synchronization (CTS). It is based on the use of so-called extensive air showers arising from cosmic rays entering the atmosphere.

These rays create a "shower" of various particles, including muons flying towards the Earth at near-light speed and therefore reaching the earth's surface at the same time. By fixing their arrival, CTS devices can synchronize with each other in real time.

"The principle is simple, and the technology, sensors and electronics already exist. So we can implement this idea quite quickly," the author believes. According to him, clocks can be synchronized throughout the planet in this way, since showers of particles occur frequently.
