Nowadays, having several televisions in one apartment is not uncommon. In this case, the signal sources, in addition to the antenna, can also be a VCR, video disc player, satellite tuner, etc., and a home TV network can be used to transmit the signal between them and televisions. If the signal source and its consumer are in different rooms, then the problem of controlling the signal source arises. For example, if the satellite tuner is located in one room and the TV in another, then controlling the first of them may be difficult, which causes some inconvenience. In this case, the “extension cable” of the remote control will help, one of the options will be discussed below.

The schematic diagram of the "extension cord" is shown in Fig. 1. The principle of its operation is very simple. In the room where the TV is located, a receiver for IR signals from the remote control is placed. Based on commands from a remote control, for example, a receiver, it generates electrical signals that are completely similar to the signals from the remote control. Transmitted via connecting wires, they act on an IR emitting diode located in the room where the receiver is installed. So from one room you can control a device located in another.

Remote control extension

The device uses a specialized K1056UP1 microcircuit, the input of which includes an IR photodiode BL1. At the output of the microcircuit (pin 10), electrical pulses are formed, similar in structure to the pulses of the remote control. These pulses are supplied to the input of the emitter follower on transistor VT1, from the output of which electrical signals pass through the connecting wires to the emitting diode VD2 and the K range.

The device is powered by a network unit assembled on a step-down transformer T1, a rectifier on a diode bridge VD1, a smoothing capacitor C6 and a voltage stabilizer on a DA1 chip. The power supply can also be a network adapter with an output voltage, which must be stabilized, of 5 V and a current of up to 100 mA.

In addition to those indicated in the diagram, the device can use IR photodiodes FDZA, KFD11, IR emitting diodes AL106, AL107, AL156 with any letter index. The KT972 transistor can also have any letter index, but it can be replaced with two KT315 transistors, also with any letter index, connected according to the circuit of a composite transistor (Fig. 2). We replace the KD906A diode bridge with a KTs407 bridge or separate diodes KD102A, KD102B, KD103A, KD103B, KD105B or similar. Oxide capacitors - K50 or similar imported ones, non-polar - KLS, K10-17. Resistors - MLT, S2-33, R1-4. The connecting wires can be any suitable: two-core telephone cable, shielded wire or two separate insulated wires with a diameter of 0,1 - 0,5 mm and a length of up to 20 m.

Remote control extension

Most of the parts are placed on a printed circuit board made of one-sided foil fiberglass, a sketch of which is shown in Fig. 3. Instead of the K1056UP1 microcircuit, you can use TVA2800, taking into account the fact that it has not 16, but 14 pins. Moreover, the microcircuit can be installed on the board without using the contact pads for pins 8 and 9 of the K1056UP1 microcircuit, as if cutting them off. The assignment of pins 10-16 of the K1056UP1 microcircuit is similar to pin numbers 8-14 of the TVA2800, respectively.

If the parts are in good condition and installed correctly, the device does not require adjustment. You just need to place the IR command receiver in a convenient place in one room and the emitting diode in another.

Nokia wristband computer 23.10.2013

Nokia has filed an application with the US Patent Office that describes a mobile device in the form of a wristband. Each link of the bracelet has a built-in touch screen. Each screen displays different information. In the illustration attached to the application, an email program is open on one display, a photograph is on the other, a messenger is on the third, and so on.

The application for the bracelet (?20130271495) was filed in August 2012 and published on the agency's website on October 17, 2013. The description states that the device, among other things, can perform the functions of a mobile phone.
