Band filters

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ELEMENTS

In the table: capacitances - in pF, inductances - in μH, SV - the so-called civilian range of 27 MHz.

Table 1
Range C1-C3 L1-L3 С2 L2
160m 3900 1.9 390 19.2
80m 2000 0.95 200 9.5
40m 1000 0,51 100 5.1
20m 470 0.27 47 2.7
15m 330 0,17 33 1.7
NE 270 0,13 27 1.3
10m 240 0.13 24 1.3

DESIGN OF INDUCTIVE COILS

They are wound on Amidion T-80-6 ring cores with enameled wire with a diameter of at least 1 mm for ranges from 20 to 10 meters and 0,8 mm for the rest. Winding occupies about 3/4 of the surface of the torus. The circuit is adjusted by two extreme turns with the help of a GIR to the middle of the range in which it will work.

The table shows the number of turns.

Table 2
Range 160 80 40 20 15 NE 10
L1-L3 23 16 11 8 7 6 6
L2 70 50 35 25 20 18 18

SELECTION OF CAPACITORS

It is best to use mica capacitors. Their data are given in the table.

CONTROL ADJUSTMENT

You need to turn on the GIR in the generation mode and place it near the frequency meter in order to accurately measure the frequency. The ring core has a closed magnetic field. And for communication with the GIR, an aperiodic communication line with low resistance is used. It is necessary to make a turn on the filter coil and a turn around the GIR coil. The wires of the communication line are bundled together (Fig. 2).

Band filters

The adjustment is carried out by unwinding and rewinding the coil and finally by moving and expanding the coils. At the end of the tuning, the turns on the torus are fixed.

FILTER INSTALLATION

The filter is mounted on a board with foil on one side. The details are located on the "clean" side, where only three contact surfaces and a mass conductor are left (Fig. 3).

Band filters

To eliminate parasitic phenomena, these surfaces should not be under the annular coils. The input and output of the filter (it is reversible) can be easily switched using a relay, which must be of good quality with contacts for a current of 1,5 A (at 100V) and 2 ... 3 A (at 250 V). The board is fixed vertically in the structure.

THREE-BAND BUTTERWORTH FILTER

It has the shape of the letter P and contains parallel oscillatory circuits at the input and output, and between them a series oscillatory circuit. It is known that at their resonant frequency Fo is parallel, the circuit presents more resistance to Fo than to other frequencies. In contrast, the series circuit acts as a short circuit. Thus, L1/C1 and L3/C3 filter out frequencies other than Fo, and L2/C2 presents a large impedance to them.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Single-chip systems Qualcomm IPQ8074 and QCA6290 17.02.2017

Qualcomm introduced IPQ8074 and QCA6290 single-chip systems supporting Wi-Fi 802.11ax. The first is designed to serve as the basis for wireless network equipment, and the second is designed for client devices. According to the manufacturer, he is the first to offer such a kit.

Adopting 802.11ax can quadruple the capacity of Wi-Fi networks while extending the battery life of mobile devices. The new SoCs support 12-stream connectivity (eight streams in the 5GHz band and four in the 2,4GHz band), MU-MIMO configurations, 80MHz channels. Another feature is support for OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) modulation used in cellular networks and traffic scheduling.

The manufacturer notes that the full benefits of innovations are revealed in equipment that supports 802.11ax, however, devices of previous generations that support 802.11ac and 802.11n will work better in 802.11ax networks.

In the IPQ8074 description, the manufacturer highlights 8x8 MU-MIMO support and a high degree of integration. The single-chip system configuration includes an RF unit, MAC and signal processor, as well as a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor and a dual-core network accelerator. The microcircuit is designed for release according to the standards of 14 nm.

In turn, the QCA6290 supports 2x2 MU-MIMO and a peak speed of 1,8 Gb / s, which is achieved through the DBS (Dual Band Simultaneous) mechanism, which allows combining channels in the 2,4 and 5 GHz bands, and high-order modulation (1024 QAM). Another advantage is proprietary power optimization that complements the built-in 802.11ax power saving technologies.
