South Korea bans minors from playing Minecraft 11.07.2021

South Korean gamers will only be able to access Minecraft if they are over 19 years old. This is due to local law that prohibits minors from playing video games between midnight and six in the morning (the ban was introduced in 2011). In order to restrict access to the country's most popular Minecraft, Microsoft has changed the way you sign in to the game, which previously required a Mojang account.

Microsoft recently announced that it will only be possible to enter the game through an Xbox Live account, and it can only be registered in South Korea by those who are at least 19 years old. Typically, game publishers take steps to comply with the law and restrict access to games during "quiet time".

In the case of Xbox Live, the restriction applies to minors around the clock.
