The composition that makes the sole waterproof

Apply a layer of cellulose acetate on both sides of the sole.

Compositions for giving the skin shine and impermeability

1st recipe:

  • Solid paraffin 500 g;
  • Linseed oil 150 g.

Paraffin is melted with linseed oil and a little fat-soluble nigrosin is added, the mass is poured into molds to obtain tablets of 100 g and allowed to solidify. How to use: rub the skin with the resulting composition and then wipe it well with a woolen cloth.

Melt in a water bath and mix.

Polishing waxes for soles and heels

These products are liquid wax soaps or wax emulsions. In principle, they are made in the same way as saponified shoe creams. These preparations are used both for coloring and for adding shine to shoe soles, soles and heels. Glitter appears after wiping the surface smeared with a wax composition. The black polishing wax composition is made with water-soluble nigrosine, the colored waxes are made with alkali-resistant aniline dyes.

Not all nigrosines are suitable for making polishing waxes, as some of them thicken after some time. The black polishing wax composition stains the skin quite intensively, while mineral paints must be added to colored ones, such as ocher, umber yellow chrome, minium, etc. These paints should be well rubbed with a small amount of liquid before adding to the composition. For the coloring of the compositions, the same dyes are used as for saponified shoe creams.

1st recipe:

An emulsion is made from 7,5 wt. parts of Carnauba wax, 1,5 wt. tsp potash, 1 wt. parts of soap and 40 parts by weight, parts of water, and the process of processing these substances is the same as that indicated for the manufacture of saponified shoe creams. Then 2 wt. parts of nigrosin are dissolved in 39 wt. parts of hot water and add this solution to the above emulsion at a temperature of about 90 ° C, continuing stirring until completely cooled. The result should be a uniform, lump-free emulsion that does not release wax.

2st recipe:

Emulsify 6,5 wt. hours of montan wax, 1 wt. hours of rosin and 0,5 wt. hours of stearin with 1 wt. hours of potash in 100 wt. hours of water, then dissolve 3,5 wt. hours of nigrosine in 30 hours by weight of hot water and add it to the above emulsion, continuing to stir until the mixture cools.

Best adhere to the skin shellac-like compounds.

Emulsify 9,5 wt. tsp montan wax, 2 wt. parts of sound or Marseille soap, with 0,5 wt. tsp potash, 30 wt. parts of hot water (90 °C) and add to this emulsion a hot solution of 9,5 wt. parts of shellac and 2,5 all. hours of borax 40 wt. hours of water, after which you should stir the whole mass until cooled.

Brown polishing wax

  • Carnauba wax 16 wt. hours;
  • Marseille soap 3 wt. hours;
  • Potash 4 wt. hours;
  • Nigrosine 0,4 wt. hours;
  • Water 60 wt. hours;
  • Minium 16 wt. hours;
  • Chrome-orange 5 wt. h.

The working process is the same as mentioned above.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Carbon nanotube heated vest 04.02.2017

Clothes in which electric heating elements are used for heating have been known for a long time, but only the modern level of technology has made it possible to eliminate the shortcomings inherent in previous implementations. Evidence of this is the Foomext heated vest, which uses carbon nanotubes.

According to its creators, the use of an advanced carbon nanotube heater made the vest thin, flexible and light. The vest is washable. It heats up quickly and does not radiate heat to the outside. A mobile battery is used as a power source. Four-stage temperature control is provided.

Without recharging, the 5000 mAh battery offered as an option lasts for 3-4 hours at maximum temperature or 7-8 hours at minimum. Charging takes 3 hours. It is possible to control heating using a mobile application, including switching on and off according to a schedule.

The developers plan to raise funds for the release of Foomext in the amount of at least $10 through the fundraising site KickStarter. The fee to qualify for the vest will be $000.
