FACTORY TECHNOLOGIES AT HOME - SIMPLE RECIPES
Fixatives for hair. Simple recipes and tips Directory / Factory technology at home - simple recipes Fixatives for hair currently prepared mostly from mineral fats. But you can also use fats of animal and vegetable origin, because the resinous substances that make up the fixatives protect them from spoilage. The manufacture of fixatives is as follows: a part of the fat is placed in a cauldron and the resin included in the fixative recipe is added to it. The resin is melted in fat and when it melts, the rest of the fat is added, and then wax, ceresin, etc., and all this is heated until it is completely dissolved. After that, the mixture is tinted with a fat-soluble paint and stirred until the mass cools. Just before solidification, perfume is added to the mass. If you want to immediately cast the sticks, then you need to prevent the mass from completely freezing, but it should remain a little liquid. Empirically, it is necessary to establish the temperature of the mass required for casting, since it also depends on the temperature of the room in which they work. For casting fixing sticks, it is necessary to have round or oval shapes. These molds are made of tin and must be of great precision. To save time, several dozen individual molds are usually joined together. These molds are made as long as the sticks should be, but if the sticks are to be made short, the molds are made double in length and the finished sticks are then cut in the middle with heated wire. For this purpose, a small oblong box is prepared, which inside has the exact height of the fixing sticks and the edges of which are upholstered with tin. This is done so that the wire does not split off the tree, which would cause the box to gradually become lower. A stick is placed in one corner and a stretched thin hot wire is drawn along the edge of the box, while cutting the stick in half. You can also fill the entire box with chopsticks and cut them all at once in the manner described above. It is not required to make the molds conical, because the cooled mass is somewhat reduced in volume and is easily removed from the molds. It is only necessary, of course, to ensure that the molds are completely even, and not narrower in the middle than along the edges, or vice versa; in this case, the sticks break when they are taken out of the molds. On sale there are such forms in which, after rapid cooling of the sticks, there are empty spaces between the individual parts into which cold water can be poured. In fact, such forms turn out to be very impractical, since they rust very easily due to the impossibility of thoroughly cleaning empty spaces. It is recommended to have a marble board as a support for forms, but it can also be replaced with tin trays. The latter, however, have the disadvantage that they warp easily and in this case the liquid mass is poured out of the moulds. But on the other hand, they have the advantage that, if necessary, they can take the tray together with the filled forms to a cold place. Before pouring the liquid mass into molds, it is recommended to slightly lubricate the latter with vaseline oil, in which case the sticks will not get stuck in the mold. The mixture should not be poured into molds too cold, otherwise it will harden immediately upon contact with the walls of the mold, resulting in unevenness and smudges. On the other hand, the mass should not be too hot, because in this case it hardens unevenly and there are voids in the middle. The most correct temperature is between 40 °C and 45 °C. If the mass is poured too hot and if it is tinted with earthen paints, the paints will settle to the bottom and in this case the fixative sticks become unusable. When pouring the mass, you should not only fill the recess of the mold to the top, but even fill the upper protruding tin edge. When the upper edge has cooled somewhat and hardened, it is removed with a steel spatula and then the upper surface of the fixation sticks is smooth and even. When the whole mass has cooled and hardened, that mold is turned on its side and, using a round wooden stick, the finished fixative sticks are carefully pushed out of the molds. First, you should prepare the base for the fixatives according to one of the following recipes: 1 method:
2 method:
3 method:
Fixator for blond hair
The ocher is triturated with oil and added to the melted mass. Fixator for brown hair
The base is melted, perfume and a pounded mixture of umber and vaseline are added. Fixator for black hair
The base is melted, perfume and a pounded mixture of soot with vaseline oil are added. Fixator for mustache and beard It is prepared in the same way as a hair fixer; the only difference is that 30 parts of Venetian turpentine are added to the mass. The sticks are cast in smaller molds.
