Review
The complete set is the most common: a packing box, the telephone itself, a Ni-Mh Slim 700 mAh battery, a branded charger, instructions - that's actually all that is included in the prepaid version of this model's packaging. The design of the phone clearly follows the trends of fashionable design - a visual thinning and bending of the case in the middle and a decrease in thickness in the upper part. The latter is very reminiscent, especially in profile, of the T2288-like Motorola models. The phone is equipped with a small, apparently for ergonomic purpose, curved antenna. The fastening of the SIM-card is made without unnecessary details - it is simply inserted into the slot in the case and is held by pressing against the contact pads of the phone. Relatively small dimensions - 129x48x27 mm (137 cc) with a Slim battery and a small weight of 140 grams place the device comfortably in the palm of your hand, and since its center of gravity is somewhat shifted to the bottom, it is quite difficult to accidentally drop the phone. Battery With a Ni-Mh Slim 700 mAh battery, with a moderate amount of calls, the phone works for 3-4 days. The charge level is easy to control by a 4-position indicator. Menu features The phone is equipped with a graphic high-contrast display with a pleasant greenish backlight. Displays 2 lines of text + 1 line of status icons: signal strength, battery level, voicemail, silent mode, new SMS text message, roaming. Apparently because of the two-line display, the menu works in the crawl line mode: Names - Calls - Extras - Settings - Security - Forwarding - Messages. Menu navigation is done with the "Compass key" (rocking 4-way navigation key). To enter the menu system, use the special key "Menu", located on the right side of the phone case. On the opposite side, it is adjacent to the "C" key (or cancel). Horizontal and vertical navigation through the menu is done using the "Compass key", right-left arrows, and up-down arrows. The down arrow on the "Compass key" is multifunctional, used to move through the menu, confirm the phone command - "OK" and perform the function of quick access to the phone book (Names). Although a direct search for a subscriber is not possible in this mode, the required number can be easily found in the alphabetical list on the telephone keypad. Almost all menu items have nice icons. Up to 18 menu languages are supported, including, of course, Russian. Switching the language - by long pressing the number key 0. It is conveniently implemented to block the phone keys from accidental operation, just hold down the "C" key and the keyboard is securely locked. Unlocking - in reverse order. Phone book and voice dialing Allows you to store up to 250 alphanumeric numbers in your SIM card. You can get to a quick search in the phone book by pressing "OK" on the navigation key "Compass key". For quick dialing, programming of 8 keys on the keyboard is possible. This is easily done by pressing the selected number key for a few seconds for the entry that you would like to include in the speed dial. Voice dialing is, I think, the highlight of the phone and works amazingly clearly. Supports up to 8 voice dialing numbers, the phone software perfectly recognizes different voices, including different male and female voices. Calls and signals There are no innovations here. The subscriber's call is made using the green key - "call", respectively, "reset" - red. With the help of the latter, the device turns on and off. When you press the call button, a list of the last 10 calls is displayed. Incoming and outgoing calls are distinguished by an icon with an arrow pointing either in-left or out-right of the phone icon. Unanswered calls are marked with an exclamation point icon. Almost the easiest way to adjust the volume and type of signal in the phone. By swinging the "Compass key" to the right or left, we immediately get into the menu for adjusting the volume of the call and choosing its type - normal, vibro or combined. You can choose a ringtone to your liking from the menu: Settings-Calls. There is a choice of 20 different melodies - from classical and disco to Chinese tunes. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter your own ringtone. The vibration signal is set to excellent power. Visible even through several layers of clothing. Almost the entire body vibrates, unlike some phone models, where only part of the body vibrates. SMS Creating and sending SMS is greatly simplified. Sending to recipients from the address list of the phone book, the list of recent calls, and, of course, by manually dialed number is supported. The phone supports sending up to 25 mood icons (emoticons) in SMS. Now, when communicating with friends or relatives on the Savvy phone, you can not only talk, but also show your feelings and mood, provided that the interlocutor also has the same phone. Connection quality The sensitivity is very good. The phone perfectly sees the network not only in places that are quite tricky for conventional devices - dead zones, for example, reinforced concrete boxes of houses or in metal elevators, but also allows you to talk tolerably in such conditions! Moreover, even when the field strength level is reduced to the very minimum position, it stubbornly does not interrupt the connection and allows you to speak. Sound effects such as otherworldly croaking or rattling were observed only occasionally. I confess that earlier I considered the Motorola cd930 to be the leader in terms of power and sensitivity, but I was convinced that the Savvy DB somewhat surpassed it in many respects. Quite conveniently displayed is the volume control of the phone speaker during a conversation (7 levels) using the same "Compass Key". Even in the noisiest places, there is always the opportunity to set the maximum (and it is quite large) volume level with one click without interrupting the conversation. Extra First of all, this is the Biorhythm Calendar, with which you can try to assess your chances, love, energy and success with the help of a game that predicts exactly your day, and then decide whether you should get out of bed today or not! Clock & Alarm Clock - Savvy has an analog alarm clock that works even when the phone is off! I have verified this many times. The type of call that is set for the phone is triggered. Attention - you may not hear the vibration signal of the alarm clock. Stopwatch - can count hundredths and tenths of a second, as well as seconds, minutes and hours. Calculator - turns on both from the "Extra" menu, and by pressing the key with the "#" symbol for a few seconds. Disadvantages There are few shortcomings, but unfortunately they exist. The main and quite significant drawback of the phone is its small display. The system for navigating through the menu section of short messages is somewhat inconvenient. Another interesting feature of the phone is that the microphone turns on when an incoming or outgoing call is made only after a second delay. In other words, the phone's microphone is muted until the other party answers. The call billing timer is also subject to this delay and is turned on together with the microphone. It is realistic to determine the exact time using the analog electronic dial of the phone clock with an accuracy of 3-5 minutes, which is not always convenient. Positive traits In 2 words - the quality of communication and voice dialing. They stand for each other. Summary In a word, I liked the phone. Even more it will appeal to those who are critical of a small price, complete with an attractive number of various functions and features. I would not recommend the phone to people who receive or send a large number of SMS messages, e-mail to the phone, primarily because of the small screen. The phone is ideal for the fair sex - small and stylish, it looks perfect in combination with any outfit, and convenient voice dialing allows you to instantly contact loved ones.
