Phraseologism: Era set.

Meaning: To be important, to lead a luxurious life (obsolete).

Origin: Phraseologism is associated with fr. "prendre (donner) de grands aires" - to live on a big footing.

Origin:

An expression belonging to one of the closest friends of A. S. Pushkin, Pyotr Pavlovich Kaverin (1794-1855). He served in 1816-1820. in the Life Hussars quartered in Tsarskoye Selo, and became famous for his cheerful disposition, revelry, various "pranks" and sharp words. He, as contemporaries recalled, always, for any occasion, had some kind of proverb-saying of his own composition. And tea appears here because in the old days it was expensive and only rich, "chosen" people drank it. This expression remained in the history of the Russian language thanks to M. Yu. Lermontov, who immortalized Kaverin's words by using them in his novel A Hero of Our Time (1840). There, Pechorin quotes these words in his conversation with Grushnitsky: “You, they say, have been terribly dragging after my princess these days?” he said rather casually and without looking at me. “Where can we, fools, drink tea!” I answered him , repeating the favorite saying of one of the most dexterous rake of the past, once sung by Pushkin" ("Princess Mary"). After the release of Lermontov's novel, these words became winged.

Samsung Electronics has announced the start of sales in Russia of its new entry-level 7-inch tablet Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.
