Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Maxim MAX17222 Nanopower Device Series 01.06.2017

Maxim Integrated has announced a new series of miniature nanoPower devices. The MAX17220 - MAX17225 is a family of ultra-low current draw synchronous DC-DC boost converters.

Modern gadgets, wearable electronics, mobile devices and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are increasing their functionality at an accelerated pace. And at the same time, they are placing ever higher demands on power supply systems. The biggest challenge in the industry today is to maximize the life of a portable device from a single battery. The MAX17220-17225 nanoPower family is ideal for applications where battery life is critical.

The MAX17222 converter has already entered mass production from the entire nanoPower line. The main advantage of the microcircuit is that its own current consumption at idle is the lowest for such devices and is only 300nA. And in the off state, the current of its own consumption drops to 0,5nA. The output voltage can be adjusted with just one external resistor. The IC is guaranteed to start at 0,95V (typ.) and maintain the output voltage if the input voltage drops to 0,4V. 2,5 strapping elements, the Maxim Integrated solution can occupy only 95mm4 on the board.

Technical specifications:

Maximum input current limit - 0,5A (typ.);
Input voltage range 0,4-5,5V (after startup);
Guaranteed start at Uin > 0,95 V (typ.), 0,88 V (min.);
Output voltage setting range 1,8-5 V;
Efficiency > 91% (up to 95%) in a wide range of loads (at Uin > 2V);
Current consumption (IQ) 300 nA (at idle);
Insulated current (ISD) 0,1 nA (off);
The shutdown function completely isolates the load from the source;
The output voltage is set by one external resistor.

Typical applications:

Wearable electronics, gadgets;
Portable medical equipment;
Miniature and low-power sensors and sensors for the Internet of things (IoT);
Devices powered by batteries or accumulators;
Backup power supply circuits on ionistors.
