The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Mitsubishi Electric LED Display for Control Centers 01.02.2017

Mitsubishi Electric has announced a new High Pixel Density (NPP) LED display that is specifically designed for control room applications and other high-demand visualization software applications. The new product has many features typical of the DLP video wall line.

Direct view LED technology provides impressive light output and high image clarity. At the same time, the screen thickness is only 90 mm, which makes the display a solution for working in confined spaces and in rooms with high air temperatures. This display uses specially designed SMD LEDs arranged in 1,5mm increments.

The LED panels are equipped with standard OPS slots that can accept a 3G-SDI signal input card or an HDBaseT receiver for long distance signal transmission via shielded (STP) Category 6 cable.

The new display has been in development for more than two years and has several patented features that make it ideal for use in control centers where long life and high reliability are paramount.

The display is designed for 100 thousand hours of continuous operation. The patented Anti-Burn feature allows you to display static graphs on the screen for a long time without reducing the performance of the LEDs or shortening their life. Thanks to the Anti-Burn function, the brightness and color of the LEDs remain unchanged throughout their entire service life.

Redundant serial inputs and redundant power supplies ensure the display continues to function even if power fails. In addition, due to the dynamic characteristics of power consumption, the brightness of the image is controlled and the output power is adjusted. This helps to optimize energy consumption and reduce operator visual fatigue, an important factor in control rooms that is usually overlooked when designing digital screens.

Mitsubishi Electric's new LED screens use a color correction algorithm (Natural Color Matrix), which is used in DLP video walls. The new products also feature a specially designed XNUMXD noise reduction system to reduce the visual noise that occurs when displaying a compressed signal, such as MPEG video.
