Texas Instruments Introduces INA209 PC-Interface Integrated Circuit for Bi-Directional Current/Power Control via Positive Power Line

The INA209 IC is made according to the architecture with near-zero offset drift and automatic offset compensation and is a device for high-precision current control with a spread of no more than one percent within the temperature range of -40...85°C and an offset of no more than 100 μV. The IC allows you to control and manage current, voltage and power in a variety of devices, incl. servers, telecommunications equipment, battery chargers, automotive and measuring equipment.

INA209 monitors the voltage drop across the current sense resistor, as well as the voltage at the point of connection of this resistor to the load (monitored range 0...+26 V). The built-in multiplier and calibration register perform the formation of the result of the measurement of current in amperes and power in watts. The microcircuit operates from a single voltage source of +3,0...+5,5 V. The microcircuit has a three-level programmable protection.

In addition, a built-in filtering circuit is used for current and voltage measurements. The filter is also used in a fast analog comparator, which makes it possible to use the IC in anti-jamming applications.
